This means that they should criticize more sternly those who are undisciplined and unruly; they should entreat those who are obedient, docile and patient so as to encourage their progress, but they should rebuke and punish those who take a feckless attitude or show contempt for what they are taught. I must enter the silence of my own heart and find God there, in order to know myself in relation to him. Then I am able to see others with the eye of my heart. In this way I can see them for who they truly are.
