WCCM Benedictine Oblates are encouraged to read a designated portion of the Rule daily, and to write a brief, personal response. Chapter 7: The value of humility (paragraph 13)

I can evaluate my conditions from an ego-centered point of view, or as one who dwells in God's loving attention to all of creation.

Meditation shows me through my distractions how I am not "content" but would rather live in an illusory reality where I am the star attraction. The mantra draws me ever down into the "ground of my being", into my heart, where Christ and the true, true-loved insignificant self really exists.
