WCCM Benedictine Oblates are encouraged to read a designated portion of the Rule daily, and to write a brief, personal response. I hope that this blog will support our Oblate community in this practice. Please, keep blog entries brief and in a first-person ("I") voice. Chapter 65: The prior or prioress of the monastery (paragraphs 2-3)

We have no doubt, therefore, that it is best in the interests of preserving peace and charity that the authority for the whole administration of the monastery should rest with the abbot or abbess.

St. Benedict urges me to understand that peace and charity reign when Christ is the head of my household.

"All decisions", "the whole operation" , Benedict reminds and John Main reaffirms,"mediate the love of God". It is my meditation that teaches me how fully every part of me is involved in the radical conversion of life in all its aspects. There are no divisions between ritual and liturgy and life. It is all part of the same mystery.
